Good morning, fam. Welcome to another episode of As The Leader Grows. I am your host, ken Jocelyn, super excited about what we're going to talk about today, super excited about what's coming up this month Create Conference Dallas, texas, the number one faith-based entrepreneur conference in America. We are going to have a freaking blast Myself, good friends like Irwin McManus, brendan Burchard, gary Brecca, randy Garn, marie Cosgrove, amber Lago, sean Crane, master Jeff Vic Keller. It is going to be an unbelievable two and a half days where we spend talking through and working through what we call our core five Faith, health, relationships, business and finances. Growsstackdrivecomcom slash create Dallas. Growsstackdrivecom slash create Dallas. We've got four different ticket levels, literally, when we created the ticket levels for this event, from our CEO ticket, which is 10K, all the way down to our general mission, which is $400. I wanted every entrepreneur, no matter the level, to be able to afford to invest in themselves, their business, their team, to be able to get to this conference. Guys, listen, you're going to hear from the best of the best of the best when it comes to faith, health, relationships, business and finances. My therapist, lawrence Oliver, will be there. Gosh, it is going to be an unbelievable time. We've got some of the best entrepreneur CEOs in the country that are going to be there? Obviously, brendan Burchard, one of the top trainers in the world. One of the Brendan's phenomenal He likes to be at our mastermind. So our GSD elite mastermind guys, we're going to meet Tuesday night And then Wednesday during the daytime. If you get a CEO ticket, you actually get access into that day and a half with our GSD elite mastermind. We have about 60, 70 of us there for that. It's going to be phenomenal. It'll be myself, vic Keller, irwin, brendan Burchard and Gary Brecca. It's going to be phenomenal as we meet and you'll meet and greet. You're literally going to be in a room with some of the the highest performing business owners and leaders that America has to offer. It's going to be amazing. But today I want to talk about on this episode. I want to talk about consistency. I want to add probably, if I had to title this talk, this podcast only be about 15, 20 minutes this morning. If I had to title it, this is what it would be titled stick with the plan. Stick with the plan because, listen, consistency is rooted in what you do every single day. I'm going to take you back to the basics a little bit. This morning I'm sitting here with my GSD planner. Literally it's wide open. I've already I've already written goals, gratitude affirmations, top three. You know I talk about this a lot. People are like Kim man you always talk about incremental, not monumental, small daily discipline, decisions over time, always equal, monumental results. Success cannot escape you when you do the right things every single day. Listen, i've been listening to John Maxwell since 1993, four, probably the first time I picked up a John Maxwell book and been listening to his tapes, his, his, his podcast, live events. And now John's been friend of friend for 20 years. He's spoken at two of my last well, he's spoken at both of our create conferences in Atlanta. He's become a dear friend and an unbelievable mentor, not just to me but to tens of thousands of people leaders, pastors, business owners. But John says and I've heard him say this for 20 years show me your daily routine and I will tell you how successful you're going to be. So I want to talk about consistency and sticking with the plan. The problem is a lot of us, when we talk about goals or vision, we have this dream or this thing that's on the inside, but we literally don't take the time to write that down every single day When people come up and they say, ken, what's your dream, what's your goal? And I, double dog, triple dog. Dare you to go ask three people today Hey, what are your goals this year, what do you want to accomplish? And listen to what you get back from people, because most people will stammer, most people will give you this vague. I wanna do this and I like to have you know. Maybe a house on the beach and man, maybe I'd like to go. They use words like maybe, probably, hopefully, ken, what are your goals? Super easy. I've got them split into three categories, both of my businesses and personal. In my businesses, i've got their numerical goals in both of them one, 16 and 20. One person leading my team which we have. We've got seven or eight deals under contract right now. This month's gonna be one of our biggest months in a year. Year and a half. One, 16, 16 million in transactions. This quarter We'll crush it. 20 FLQAs which I'm with EXP, that's, frontline qualifying agents, my rev share, my rev share with EXP, which is why I went with EXP a year and a half or so ago when I met Brent Gove, who's one of the top guys in EXP now seven figures a month. He's getting in rev share. My rev share last couple months has been 2,500 bucks or more. I have 50 agents under me and I don't even recruit agents. I just do what I do. I have my conferences. People come to me and go. Can we wanna be a part of what you got going on Because of what we're doing? So one, 16, 20, 20 FLQAs this year. My goal within those 20 FLQAs I should be at about 75K a year residual income coming from my rev share from EXP. So if you know anything about what I say when I say residual income, what does that mean? That means it's money I don't have to work for. It's coming in every single month. Second area, second business, build GSD. I've got four numerical goals 50, 100, 500, 1,050 people in my GSD Elite Mastermind. 100 people in my GSD online community. 500 people at each of my Create conferences Atlanta, january, dallas and July, which is coming up Time with my girls. I've got four daughters and I have made that a priority to spend time with my babies, me healed and whole. If you followed along any with my journey over the past year and a half, you know it has been an unbelievable journey where, gosh, i've learned so many things. And at 53 years old, when my therapist looked at me in our first session and said, ken, when I shared my story about moving six times from my moms to my dad's, going to 12 schools in 12 years and six different high schools, and she looked at me, she goes why would you wanna move so much? And I said, maxine, i didn't have a choice. If I ever got in trouble, i lived in Georgia with my mom. My mom would say, go, pack a bag. I had 24 to 48 hours and I was on a bus, a plane or my dad was on the way to pick me up. And she looked at me a couple seconds later, in second biggest aha moment in my life outside of August 22nd 1993, when I gave my life to Christ, she asked me this question. She said, ken, how do you think that's affected your relationship with the women in your life who are supposed to love and protect you? And it was a huge aha moment, literally took me to. Three weeks prior to that I was dating someone I love very much in Northern California. She picked me up at the airport in San Francisco. We didn't even make it out of the city limits. We had an argument, i made her pull the car over, i got my suitcase and I left. So here was a 53 year old man living out the trauma of a 13 year old boy, except this time the woman in his life wasn't gonna say leave, he was gonna leave and pack his suitcase before you told me And I was living with that trauma for 40 years and had no idea until that moment So me healed at hold. that's one of my personal goals. I lose 106 pounds. I'm down 80, 82. I'm on keto right now. I'm going to Costa Rica in a couple of weeks to get some stem cell therapy from one of our platinum sponsors for Create, super excited about that. And then shooting 80s in 24 months. It's my golf goal And I set a goal to be able to shoot 80s. I went and got fitted for club three or four months ago. I played seven times. I haven't been able to play recently because my back's been bothering me. That's why I'm going down and getting the stem cells. Just amazing how God works out. So those are my goals personal and two business and the two different businesses that I have, those are my goals. So when I talk about sticking with the process, like stick with the plan if you can't articulate what your goals look like. The one of the main things I learned from Grant Cardone love him, hate him, whatever that looks like for you One of the main things I learned from Grant was the power of writing your goals down twice a day. Now listen, i've got friends of mine, dude Vic Keller, savant. I mean, he literally is a savant when it comes to business. He'll be at Create. He's a super good friend of mine. Vic had 11 companies successfully acquired by Warren Buffett for a lot of money And then he served three years as Warren's as he calls him, mr B, affectionately causing Mr B. He served as Mr B's CEO for Berkshire Hathaway Automotive's. Took it from an eight billion dollar a year company to an 11 billion dollar a year company in three years. Vicks, like I've never written down a goal in my life, i'm like, well, bro, you're a savant. I was like some guys, man, some guys just got it. You know, you've got those. You've got those athletes you've been around in your life that don't work out. They don't put up shots in the gym, they're not out on the field, it's just man. When they walk out there. It's just well. Vicks one of those guys. When it comes to business, he literally is a savant. It's like Irwin, irwin McMahon. It's a good friend and he's mastermind. We're there the first couple of days of his mastermind. At the first break He looks, he goes Hey, how do you think it's going? I said, dude, you're a savant, you're like like it's unbelievable, what an unbelievable communicator and storyteller you are. Like it's not fair to the rest of us who love to do this, to sit there and watch you. They're like I'm like, dude, you're that, you're really, really good. So, but what did I learn from Grant? And again, this is for me, this works for normal people Write your goals down twice a day. I don't hit it every day, but let's just say, if you write your goals down this is how I heard Grant explain it and it made all the sense in the world You write your goals down twice a day. That's 730 times a year. For those of you listening to podcasts, i'd love for you to comment on this, like, how many times you write your goals down every day? Do you write them down? Do you write it? or how many times you write your goals down a year at the beginning of the year, maybe are they are. Is the clarity in your goals? If somebody looked at your goals, could they tell where you're wanting to go? Because your goals then will show you where your calendar needs to be, because you're calendaring things that help you get to those goals. And if it doesn't help you get to the goals, guess what guys? We don't write them down. We don't, we don't, we don't fill time in. That does not help me get to where I know God wants me to go. So how many times you write your goals down a year? Maybe in January once, if? are they vague? Are they? are they specific? Is there clarity in those goals? Listen, you can't stick with the process unless you know exactly what the process looks like. So, goals seven you write them down two times a day. 365 days, that's 730 times in one year. Let's just say I don't hit 365 times. Let's just say I hit 300. I hit. I hit way more than 300. But let's just say I only hit 300. That means I'm writing my goals down 600 times a year. To the average business person or average competitor that I have who may, let's just say they write them down once a month. Let's say they write them down once a week. That's 52 times. Most people don't do that. Very few people do that. I've been doing this for over three years And let me tell you something It freaking works. So I'm writing my goals down 600 times a year, compared to your 12. Guess who's going to win that battle? I'm going to dominate you every single time. I'm going to crush the competition. I'm going to. I'm going to accomplish what I'm writing down because every single day I look down and go build Ken's Austin, team One 16, 20. Build GSD 50, 100, 500, 1000 for me. Lose 106 pounds, time with my girls, me healed in whole. Shoot 80s on the golf course in 24 months. I know exactly what my goals look like. So when I have my goals and there is extreme clarity in them, then I can look at my calendar and before I put something on my calendar, i know whether or not that time I'm spending. Because, listen, you're spending time. When you spend money, you can go make more money, but when you spend your time, it's gone forever. You're never getting it back. You're never getting it back. It's not coming back. If you, once you spend it, it's gone. So when I spend time and I look at my calendar and I see what my calendar looks like and I see where my time is going, like today and I have. I mean, my calendar is full already today. It's already full already today. My calendar is full. But my calendar I've got Six sales calls today. I've got two calls with two really good friends, one person in my mastermind, one really good pastor friend of mine. I'm on a podcast, my podcast guest today. I hit my f45 class this morning at 5 am. I was up at3 19 is what time I woke up. You're like 319. Then I was in the bed at 9. I got a 920 last night. 920, 915. I was out as soon as I lay down. In five minutes I'm out. I was gone, woke up at 319 to go the bathroom went. Oh, okay, let's get up my alarm going off in 40 minutes. And that's what I did. I rolled. How can you do that? You're like how, how can? what drives you out of bed? You've heard me say this in the past. If you need an alarm clock to get out of bed, your goals aren't big enough. Like, what are you aiming for? Zig Ziggler says if you aim for nothing, you'll hit it every single time like what are you aiming for? And I think a lot of times people don't write their goals down, not because they're lazy, but because they're like if I write my goals down, then I'm accountable to live my life According to reaching these goals, and I'm not a hundred percent sure I have what it takes to accomplish What I'm writing down on this paper. For a year and a half I wrote down 20 agents to exp 20, 20 agents to exp, 20 agents to exp. I had one, then I had three, then I had four, then I had Five, and that was like a year, year and a half process. And then what do I do every day? 20, 20 agents to exp, 20 agents to exp 20 agency. I'm writing it down every single day, twice a day. What happens in January at create conference? I have two different agents that are there that I do not know. Who said man, i want to be a person when we do our create conference. I don't talk about exp from stage, i just don't You. You know I'm a part of exp because some of the top people are in the room, but I don't talk about, i don't pitch exp and what they're doing. I just do me and it's in my life is so Attractional, people like Shay Spitz from Nebraska come and go. I want to be with exp. What do I have to do? Okay, here, here's what it's all about watch this video. Let's let the two of us watch this video from a good friend, brent gov, and let's talk about it. Signed her up. She's already signed somebody else up just even last week This was in January My good friend, christy and Aaron. Now Dwyer Aaron wasn't even there. They're both brokers, top brokers in a, in a You know a different, in a different brokerage, the number one people in exit realty in the state of Georgia. She's at my event with one of her top agents and she comes in she goes This is them, this is my tribe, this is what I've been looking for. Tell me more about exp. And I'm like, okay, and I'm telling them what's going on. They brought 30, some odd agents over. So not only did I smash through 20 agents to exp, i went through five. So you've got five, ten, fifteen, twenty FLQ a's. It keeps unlocking levels Below you that you get paid residual income for your rev share. And so not only did I smash 20 agents, I have 50, now 49 or 50 and you know now my rev shares 2,500 bucks a month. Well, ken, that was just kind of luck. No, it wasn't luck. I wrote it down every single day for a year and a half before it happened and I'm focused on making that Specific goal happen. If I go out and I know my goals lose 106 pounds. Now I will be super transparent with you. I'm down 80. I look different, i feel different. There are times when I'm like, dude, you've already lost 80, 80 pounds. This body cheesecake ain't gonna kill you. I tell people all the time I have the same spiritual gifts as Jesus. I love to hang out and like to eat, but I'm working out all the time. I haven't gained any weight. I've maintained for probably six months, six, seven months. I was a little bit away a couple, two or three months ago, put a little bit back on, but I'm still. I'm probably down five pounds in six months, not a lot. And So lose 106 pounds. I know what that looks like. I know when I get ready to go do something or if I've had a couple days where I haven't eaten. Well, i'm like, no, i got, i got to get back on, i've got to get back, locked in and focused. I know my time with my girls is huge. I'm gonna lock in and make sure that I've got time dedicated to spend with my four daughters me healed in whole. What does that look like? I make time to be with my therapist every week. I make time to get in the gym. I make time to get to my chiropractor. I make time to get to stretch zone and get stretch real good, so I feel good physically. So when you You want to stick to the plan and stick with the process and embrace the journey, you've got to have clearly defined goals. I love man. There's a. There's a Nick saving video. I absolutely love it. I wish I could put the clip in here, but he talks about. He talks about different levels of people. You And he talks about. You know how you can be. You know subpar in your performance or in your life, you can be average or you can be above average or you can be elite. Like, what do you want to be in your life? You have to make a decision. Like you're not, you're never going to find consistency, you're never going to fall in love with the process or the journey if you don't have a destination that you're going after. Imagine getting in the car. I live in Birmingham now Atlanta, for 35 years, 20, well what? 15 to 20 years, off and on in Detroit and Pontiac, where I grew up, go blue. And imagine getting in the car in Birmingham and going Hey, we're going on vacation. Man, dad, that's awesome, can't wait. Where are we going? Not really sure where we're going, just getting the car. We're going somewhere. But, dad, where are we going? Maybe babies, i'm not sure where we're going to go, just getting the car. We're going somewhere. We're going to be doing that. And then starting the car up, backing out of the driveway and having no idea where you're going, how well do you think that vacation is going to go? Probably not going to go that well, but that's what a lot of our, that's what a lot of our dreams and our vision look like. We don't take the time every single day to write down our vision. We don't take time to look at our vision and go. You know, what Is this vision worthy of? as a person of faith, the God I serve Does this vision I write my, my quote of the day I write down every morning am I living up to the potential that Jesus has placed on my life. I write it down every single day in my planner. Am I living up to the potential that Jesus has placed on my life? So here's the deal. You want to be consistent. You want to stick with the process. You need to know exactly where you're going. Now let me say this for some of you guys This is going to. This is going to ebb and flow. Some of these goals are going to change. Some of these you're going to add along the way. Some of these you're going to get clarity on as you move forward. Ken, i don't know what it looks like. Start by taking some time away from everything else and dreaming. If and I had one of my mentors say this to me 25 years ago, it's crazy, it's 25 years ago 25 years ago, ron Luce told me. He said, ken, he said, dream as if Money were not an option. If you had a blank check and you could make your youth ministry, your student ministry, look like anything you wanted to look like, what would it look like? That was my basis. That was my starting point. I started writing down what it would look like. I wrote three years of goals down. This was in 1998. I wrote three years of goals down Huge goals. We raised $76,000 in my community in a span of three months, built out a 7,200 square foot youth facility in 1999. This was 24 years ago. There weren't youth facilities around the country. I was one of the very first ones that did it. I saw my youth ministry explode from a handful of kids to 350, 450, coming on Wednesdays in a church of five or 600 people We were busing kids in from schools 30 miles away. Because of what God was doing Why? Because I had a mentor who looked at me and said dream and write down vision, like I'm handing you a blank check and money's not an option or money's not an issue. That's how I want you to say God expects us to dream. If you want to be consistent, if you want to embrace the process and the journey, stick with the process. It's hard, it's not easy. There are going to be days. It feels like life. It feels like life punches you like Mike Tyson right in the jaw And you're going to be like oh shit, what just happened to me? What? And you kind of get a little discombobulated. You're like whoa, where am I at? What's going on? That's when you lean into the relationships you have and go. Hey, fellas, what's going on? Somebody talked to me. Am I good? Yeah, they're standing over you and you just got knocked on the canvas and they're like fanning you a little bit, putting some smelling salts in your nose, and they're picking you back up off the canvas and going okay, let's go, we got a couple more rounds, let's go. Let's go get it. They're encouraging you. But if you want, if you guys listen to me, if you want to be consistent, if you, if you want to embrace the process, stick with the process, embrace the journey. You've got to have clear and concise goals. Guys, thanks for joining us again on another episode of As The Leader Grows, coaching With Ken. I have no idea what we're going to title this one today, but listen, i would love to see you in Dallas, texas myself.
