As The Leader Grows with Ken Joslin

Anthony Brumfield | Healing Beyond Medicine

Ken Joslin

Anthony Brumfield's journey of redemption will stop you in your tracks. Sitting in a drug rehabilitation center twelve years ago, this former "renegade steroid dealer" received divine inspiration that would transform both his life and the health of thousands: take his underground knowledge legitimate and build a comprehensive wellness center where people could safely access hormone therapy, weight loss solutions, and cutting-edge treatments.

What began as one man and his puppy in a tiny clinic has expanded into Body Symmetry MD, a six-location wellness empire spanning from Atlanta to Boston to Palm Desert. Anthony shares the raw, unfiltered story of his rock-bottom moment and how faith guided him toward his true purpose. "God put it on my heart that he knew I liked to help people and he knew I was doing it the renegade way," Anthony explains. "He wanted me to grow along spiritual lines and help people the right way."

The conversation takes a powerful turn when Anthony reveals how he's paid his success forward by creating opportunities for others with similar backgrounds. The story of Jose, a franchise owner who built a thriving practice serving Boston's Portuguese-Brazilian community during COVID lockdowns, exemplifies Anthony's philosophy of purpose-driven entrepreneurship. From a cramped 700-square-foot space, Jose built a practice generating nearly $800,000 in revenue that completely transformed his family's life.

For health enthusiasts, Anthony unpacks the world of peptides – compounds that act as "messengers" in the body to trigger specific responses like reduced inflammation, enhanced healing, and visceral fat reduction. From BPC-157 (Body Protecting Compound) to custom "Sculpt blends," he simplifies these cutting-edge treatments that are revolutionizing wellness. His parting wisdom for those struggling with health? "Start slow, just do something... start eliminating something bad and put something good in."

Connect with Anthony through Body Symmetry MD's website or find him on Facebook to learn how you might transform your health or even join his mission as a licensee partner.

Speaker 1:

Hey guys, welcome to another episode of as the Leader Grows. I am your host, ken Jocelyn. I got a special in-studio guest today, my man, anthony Brumfeld from Body Symmetry MD. Anthony's a part of our GSD ecosystem. Dude, take a minute and tell our audience real quick about you, where you come from, because you're one of those dudes like me.

Speaker 2:

Bro, we operate with a very high motor well, man, first I think you teach me how to do one of those intros like that yeah got the energy to really do a good podcast and by the way first of all, um thank you for inviting me to do this it's the first one I've ever done is it really?

Speaker 2:

yeah, it is I mean like you know, podcasts have been uh, you know, are very popular. Yeah, I've been very lucky and very blessed. Um, I've got started in the health and wellness industry here in Atlanta about 12 years ago, and so when I got started, there was only about really three or four of us that were doing it, and so the cool thing about it was is my competitors or their friends in the industry, which we still are today. I mean, they were very helpful and welcoming. But as the industry has grown which is a great thing because it very much needs to become more and more mainstream Our health care system is struggling terribly and there's not a whole lot of convincing that you have to do with people anymore, but nowadays we need to let them know that there's an option. Those options are, like some of my buddies in the industry and body symmetry. We're a chain of comprehensive wellness centers. We specialize in medical weight loss, hormone replacement therapy and anti-aging medicine.

Speaker 1:

And that can mean a lot of things you know from.

Speaker 2:

You know the weight loss GLP peptides.

Speaker 2:

We just had a whole conversation about that down in my kitchen just a minute ago, yeah, so that's what's so exciting, because, you know, peptides is one of the things that we jumped on board with right away. We had a little bit of knowledge about peptides. I'll share with you a little bit about where that come from in my story, um, but uh, getting back to a podcast, you know, I saw some of the folks out there doing podcasts and I guess maybe the format or the way they were doing it it seemed to be a me on me type of thing and that was like, uh, something like oh man, I don't know about this podcasting stuff but, I have a whole new take on it now and I'm glad that you invited me to come do one, because I know it's important that you get your story out there and what better person to get.

Speaker 1:

I appreciate that I want to jump in to the like. I'm downstairs, I'm showing you my BPC-157, my Tessamorella in my refrigerator, all my peptides. I take shots five days a week on different ones. I want us to jump into that. But before we get into the peptides and what you do at Body Symmetry dude, I want to know about why you do what you do, anthony, because you've got an unbelievable story. Take a minute and just walk me through the journey of how you went from where you were before to where you're at today.

Speaker 2:

Oh gosh, I always kind of pray and meditate on this one.

Speaker 1:

Somebody asked me about my story but it's my story and I guess it needs to be told you can't pull any punches.

Speaker 2:

It's got to be told correctly. I guess if I don't do it, somebody else might. So I got into the health and wellness industry when I was sitting at the Bridges of Hope, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, and God put it on my heart that he knew that I like to help people and he knew that I was doing it the renegade the wrong way, being the hookup guy for my buddies in the gym, which morphed into more of an enterprise where I had a network of type A personality business owner people that I was dealing the solicit stuff to all across the nation and it's not something like I don't know. You put it on your resume.

Speaker 2:

It's one of those things that it's part of the story, Part of the journey, man't know. You put it on your resume. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

It's one of those things that is part of the story, Part of the journey man.

Speaker 2:

And so you know, you just put it on my heart. It's like you know, when I'm praying to meditate and I'm asking you know, like what is my purpose for? What is your will for me and what is my purpose? And you know he put it on my heart that he wants me to grow along spiritual lines and he wants me to help people. I'm a people pleaser. But he shared with me, put it on my heart that I have enough resources and pieces of the puzzle that I can do this right. I don't have to do it in this renegade type of way. I know doctors and I know about blood lab testing and pharmacies that we can use where we can provide this to people in a comprehensive, safe way that is overseen by a practitioner, labs are monitored and we can do this in the right way. And this was 12 years ago Because at that time—.

Speaker 1:

So let me pause you real quick. So you're in rehab, I am. So let me pause you real quick. So you're in rehab, I am, and you're there. And that's really where you felt like God spoke to you and gave you the vision for what you have now. Yeah, was that like just in prayer? Was that just walk me through how that happened?

Speaker 2:

So the place that I went to was an amazing place called Bridges of Hope and I suggest, if anybody finds themselves in a pickle, this is an amazing place, because not only did I find God there, but it's an awesome place because it's not super expensive and if you want real hardcore recovery done the right way, these guys know how to lay it down, but I was there for six months. Like this wasn't no Betty Ford type of place where you're out in 28 days and so you get a lot of time to reflect and think about things, and so one of my down times when I was between I was the head kitchen, not the chef, but the chief. I ran the kitchen, I ran the business part of the kitchen.

Speaker 1:

I can see that, yeah.

Speaker 2:

So I would make sure we had plenty of good ingredients and all that stuff and the meals while we were there were supposedly amazing, but I also had a lot of good help, but anyway. So I'm thinking about what it looks like once I get through this program and what the next steps are in my life and I know that I'm an enterprising guy, but I'm thinking about what is it that I enjoy the most and what's.

Speaker 2:

God's plan for me and he's put it on my heart Like listen, you know, yeah, you can do this, but you just can't be a renegade steroid dealer.

Speaker 1:

You've been doing it illegally. It's time to take it legit. I want you to do this. Yes, you can help me.

Speaker 2:

And so that is basically the essence of where the body symmetry came from.

Speaker 2:

I got that from praying and meditating. God put that on my heart and so when I got out of the bridges, I went to work for Wells Fargo, did mortgages for just a very short period of time. When all those pieces of the puzzle started coming together, I started looking for a place to land my first clinic. Just so happened that an amazing guy by the name of Tom, who was somebody I knew from the mortgage industry, just happened to have a location where he walked me down and showed me and I was like that's where my first spot was. So I didn't have to worry about credit and down payment.

Speaker 1:

This guy, I mean, he had me, god had me.

Speaker 2:

So it was one of those things and that's where we got our first location started. Um, and the other amazing part is is when we got into the industry, things weren't as mainstream as they are right, right now we're talking about peptides and we've got in hormone replacement therapy.

Speaker 1:

It's just.

Speaker 2:

It's just over 350 skews of motions, potions and lotions that we get to work. Okay, that are mainstream at the time. We had hcg for weight loss, we had methylcobalamin and cytoglobulamin b12 and then we had testosterone cypionate for men. We had like three three ingredients or three products and services that we literally launched and started a company with uh that's been around for 12, 12 years now and six locations later that's awesome.

Speaker 1:

So you start your first location. What year was this when you started that? Uh, 2014, 2014. You opened your first location. How long into that journey for your first location? Because there's into that journey for your first location. Because there's a ton of faith-based entrepreneurs listening to this podcast Hundreds, hundreds and hundreds each episode so you opened this first location. Was it already in your heart to franchise and grow this when you started?

Speaker 2:

Or were you just ecstatic just to be able to open a location and help people? Yeah, I was just ecstatic to open a location because right after I opened up my location I got a puppy, a little white lamb. You can see it on my website. Her name is Aspen. So it was just me and Aspen in there for the first six months and I'm telling you what you know it was like crickets, you know, after we ran through our friends, our family, we got them blood tested and learned how to do the drill Organically growing new patients.

Speaker 2:

It took a little bit of time and I think the most business we did out of that clinic for the first six months is any salesman that walked through the door. I bought something from him. I don't know if it was a karma thing, I didn't want to bring bad luck to myself. So if it was a salesman and he was something I was buying, I love that. And so, uh man, I remember I was signed up for things that uh would best like crm databases and all that stuff and I had no, no data. You didn't have, you know, you didn't have a client to put I love it, dude, but I had the best.

Speaker 2:

I had the platinum program yeah um, but after that I started to get a little bit of traction and then I hired a colleague to come work with me who's been in the industry. Her name is Saram and she was amazing. She's still with me today, but she was an amazing part of the growth of Body Semi.

Speaker 1:

It's always about people. It is. So let me ask you this, because we know it's always about people. You've got seven locations now. Six Six locations Atlanta, atlanta, boston, california. You've got one in Palm Springs, palm Desert, palm Desert, palm Desert, california. So you've got six locations around the country. What has been your key in finding and keeping great people?

Speaker 2:

Well, I think they find me At first when I started going, anybody that was hungry and wanted an opportunity I would give them one, and so that helps. And then I just treat them Apparently. I treat my people pretty well is what I'm told. Apparently I get teased a little bit, like some of them. It's like the Hotel California they check in and never leave, can't ever leave, can't ever leave.

Speaker 1:

I love it.

Speaker 2:

And so I think that was the key part is, you know, I think I attracted good people. I wanted people that had a passion for the industry. They really enjoyed this stuff. I tried to always stay away from engaging or hiring anybody that was just in it for like the fame or the flash or you know.

Speaker 1:

So what were some of the things you did intentionally to be able to create a culture to attract those kind of people?

Speaker 2:

I guess by just providing the best patient experience. We wanted to be known for some of the clinic out there that were very well buttoned up in that capacity. People were having good patient experience and so they want to be associated with that. We've got a lot of folks out there that are in the industry and heck, I was even one of them at first that it wasn't so clinical. You know what I mean. We were just slinging and ringing and people were wanting something.

Speaker 1:

We were figuring out a way to make it happen.

Speaker 2:

I love that so kind of like the subprime industry.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I remember that back in the day in the mortgages. So one location, what in the journey? When was it? After you opened that first location you were like, hey, I need a second.

Speaker 2:

It wasn't that I needed a second. Actually, somebody came to me and said they wanted to do one, and that was kind of a light bulb moment that basically I was like, okay, well, what we can do is potentially we can build this brand, and we can do it by leveraging one another and helping each other with the stuff that's the most expensive, the biggest the marketing, the malpractice, the medical direction, the things that are very expensive. If somebody wants to go out and open up a clinic, by themselves, those costs are pretty high. But if you plug into an existing network and we can share those expenses while building a brand, then we're able to duplicate multiple clinics all over the place, and so it was a way of helping each other by leveraging the cost and sharing those costs that we're able to build a brand.

Speaker 1:

I love that. So you've grown six locations this past year. You have no idea who we are. How'd you find out? You saw an ad.

Speaker 2:

Okay. So yeah, I see this guy pop up on my Facebook feed. Had a shirt on, thank you very much.

Speaker 1:

Everybody says no shirt. Hi, I'm Ken Johnson. I've never done an ad with no shirt on.

Speaker 2:

If you're a faith-based, entrepreneur in the Atlanta area. You want to plug into proximity we've got Gary Breck, john Maxwell da da da on, and so I was like okay, yeah, this is kind of a God thing, yes, because that's exactly what we're looking for. We were in the process of going through, we were getting walked through the steps with a company called EOS.

Speaker 1:

It's the Entrepreneur.

Speaker 2:

Operating System, and it's not a software, it's just a methodology where they help teach people how to figure out who they are, tell their story, get the right people in the right seat and also help them get traction by also learning exactly what their core values are, what their mission statement is. And so we just finished up going through EOS, figuring out who we were as a company, and we've come to the determination of our core values. It's an acronym, it's called FITPE, and we are men and women. We're faith-based, okay, so we believe in it. We're not religious, but we believe there's a creator. He put us here on Earth for a reason, gave us a purpose, and that purpose is what drives us.

Speaker 2:

The I's for integrity. We believe in doing everything at the best we possibly can, uh, and operating at highest level of integrity, uh. Teamwork, I mean we work together, uh, to figure out how to make the patient experience good and how to help the patient. We don't climb over each other, you know, try to get to sales or anything like that. We work together as a team, um, uh. And entrepreneur we're people that are entrepreneurial and, excuse me, p professional Okay, I forgot one Professional. We try to operate the highest level of professionalism. And then the last one is entrepreneur. We're men and women that basically, we think outside the box, we don't look at problems.

Speaker 1:

We look at solutions. I know you said this. We talked about this the other day. When you hire somebody, you're looking for somebody that has an entrepreneurial mindset.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so we run them through the people analyzer They've got to be, able to check all those boxes, it would be yes, maybe or no. And when we talk about, are they a good fit for our organization, are they faith-based, do they have teamwork, are they entrepreneurial, are they professional? And so if they can't check all those boxes, with the exception of maybe here or there, then they're probably not a good fit for our organization.

Speaker 1:

I love that. So six locations. You guys you see me on a Facebook ad or your faith-based entrepreneur in that area, Gary Brekker. You saw that Gary was coming. I did, yeah.

Speaker 2:

And so I thought to myself yes, this is in Atlanta, gary Brekker is going to be there, it's in Alpharetta, heck, yeah, sign me up. I got to go check these guys out. Yeah, because you know, the thing about Gary Brekka is, not only does he have a funny-looking haircut, but he's a handsome guy.

Speaker 1:

Same haircut you got bro.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I get that all the time. People say to me you don't look exactly like what could pass as brother.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Anyway, I was like, yes, we've got to get a chance to meet and talk with Gary Because basically he's like our Jake from from state farm. All right, he's out there creating content, he's laying it down and speaking to people where it's so palatable to them and they're they're just taking it all in that we'll never be able to like out advertise or him so we want to talk about.

Speaker 2:

You know how to keep him out there creating that content, because at Body Symmetry we're creating the environments where we have providers and patients can tap in to all the stuff he's talking about, from methylation, testing and learning about grounding hydrogen water bottles I have mine downstairs.

Speaker 1:

I have mine downstairs. Water bottles, I have mine downstairs.

Speaker 2:

I have mine downstairs, but even more you know, you know his his theory on protocols and stuff and so being able to leverage that in some capacity, either directly or indirectly, we're like heck, yeah, let's, let's see if we can go talk to Gary.

Speaker 1:

I love that. So, gary Braca, I love you, my my friend. For those friend For those of you guys that maybe listen, it's the first time Gary's been huge in my health journey. You've seen my before and after picture. I'm down close to a hundred pounds of body fat and Gary's been a huge part of that and speaks at pretty much everything that we do. So you come to Create, which is the number one faith-based entrepreneur conference in the country. What was that experience like?

Speaker 2:

It was pretty amazing, you guys. Boy, we sure did do a lot of crying. Let me tell you what I'm the worst dude If you're a crier.

Speaker 2:

you like to get your emotional heartstrings plucked out a little bit, boy, that's a great place to go get a good cry on at Create or one of your events. But no, it was all done in real good taste. You know, I believe the Holy Spirit was definitely in the room that day. It was seeing how people were moved by the speakers, the stuff that the content that we were talking about and the talent that was in the room. I mean, come on, if we're going to talk about health, what better person than Gary Bracco? And if we're going to talk about health, what better person than Gary Bracco?

Speaker 1:

And if we're going to talk about leadership, then John Maxwell. These are the goats especially in this area.

Speaker 2:

So it was really I totally got at that point now not to patronize you, but I got the whole proximity thing. I get it. I mean, if you're going to be a faith-based entrepreneur, you're going to try to help each other stay accountable and help lead each other in these areas. We need good data, good information and having proximity to folks like that. That's huge.

Speaker 1:

Game changer man. That's game changer, one of the things because I want to hit the peptide talk because some people are going to listen and they're going to be like I don't really know about peptides. I want to talk about specific ones, what they do. But the one thing I love about you, bro, is you did one of your maybe even two of your franchises that you did. One of them you did in Boston. You brought him with you to create. I did. You invested like 10K worth of tickets to bring some of the guys that you brought. This is a guy you weren't even looking necessarily to franchise in Boston, but you had somebody who was hungry, who wanted to do a business. Walk us through that story and how you, as a faith-based entrepreneur and a CEO, saw this guy. And this is what I love about you your heart. You gave this guy an opportunity and a chance.

Speaker 2:

So I think earlier, when you were asking me how did I attract those people or how did I go about finding them, I think God brought them to me. I think that's how he's always operated in my life, both good and bad. Yeah, oh yeah, I've learned some lessons from some folks and if you're out there, thank you for those lessons.

Speaker 2:

And the folks that we've gotten blessings. Let's bring it on. We've got a lot more to achieve. But Jose's his name and I love telling the Jose story because God brought him into my life. He was a guy who was hungry. He's a hustler. However, he's got a past, like mine too.

Speaker 2:

We're a little bit birds of a feather. We're some bad boys learning and becoming good men. And he is a good man, faith-based, great, father, grandfather now is what I hear. And so Jose comes down and he spends about a couple of weeks with me, stays at my house and I teach him about our whole process, our company, everything, and so he takes everything that he learns and he's ready to go. Well, unfortunately, he was one of the last people out of Hartsfield, atlanta into Boston when they shut everything down with COVID. So Boston is shut down, but Jose is not this guy. He is out there. He's got paper applications that he's meeting with people in broom closets and gyms that are open up there, getting their patient information, sending them to LabCorp, getting their blood work done. Our nurse practitioner, practitioner who's licensed in boston, and our medical director we got licensed up there. They start doing the call backs, reading the blood work, and we're doing telemedicine. We're now in the telemedicine business. Uh, by by way of boston.

Speaker 1:

Now, were you doing telemed before that or this happened just because of covid and just because of boston it just proxied into it.

Speaker 2:

We weren't doing a lot of. We had brick and mortars and anybody that we had in that that area is who we treated. The telemedicine that we would do is so if you were in Atlanta but you had an aunt in Jacksonville that wanted some help with hormones or weight loss, well then, we're licensed down there. Then we would treat them by way of telehealth.

Speaker 1:

So good.

Speaker 2:

So, jose, he's out there killing it. He is building himself a book of business. He's up in the Boston area. Covid goes strong for over two years up there. However, there was a little business inside of a gym that he was working out of that did physical therapy rehab, and so they went out of business, and so this little space is about 700 square foot. It's about four times the size of the room that you and I are in right now.

Speaker 2:

And that's all the bigger spot that he had. And so he set it up as like a little mini clinic, uh body cemetery up in boston. He had a little area there where he could draw blood, he had an area where he could put people in the in-body scale uh do their intake, and then a little little video conference there where he could do telemedicine, where the nurse practitioner could do the callback, and so he literally took that little 700 square foot little spot and ran it up to about $750 or $800,000 in revenue. When he hit a ceiling he's like boss, I can't do any more here, I need more staff, I need more room, I've hit a ceiling.

Speaker 1:

So again, let me go back because I want to touch on the heart part of you, anthony, as a guy and a man and a Christ follower. You saw a kid. You wanted to give him an opportunity. Now fast forward some he's hit $700K in revenue a year. Talk to me about your heart and the fulfillment you get from being able to put your team and these franchisees and these franchise owners in position to succeed the way you have. Jose.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I don't think anything's more fulfilling at least for me is when you can see your efforts or your coaching and your teaching being duplicated and people succeeding, and so I mean we make money along the way and so I guess I'm just more purpose driven. Yeah, you know, my purpose is is I mean I would love to do another 24 Jose situations before we exit or tap out or somebody comes and wants to gobble us up. I would love to have another 24 Jose type locations or stories that I can share on a podcast with you, because, man, that's, that's what drives me, that is a really cool.

Speaker 1:

Thing.

Speaker 2:

I mean, this is a guy that was you know I don't want to tell too much about. You know, he's living with his in-laws, his wife and two kids, and so now they have a house of their own, their kid's in private school. Yeah, their lifestyle has changed in a way.

Speaker 1:

Quality of life has just went way up.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah and so. But he's a hustler, he's a hard worker and he was coachable, and so I mean I just kind of shared some of my you know, my experience with him and you know, and gave him some, and don't go down that path.

Speaker 1:

Do this. Hey, it's going to cost you if you do it.

Speaker 2:

He's also. He's had God's blessing on him as well, because he's a faith-based driven person as well, and so God's favor. He's carved a nice little niche up there it's so awesome, and that niche is Portuguese speaking Brazilian people Love that, and those folks just love the body symmetry and health and wellness products and procedures Love that, and so he's got a good little groove going yeah.

Speaker 1:

I love that Number one. Congrats on that. Thank you For that, because I know that makes you feel like a million bucks. It's a big deal. It's a huge deal, bro. It is a big deal. I knew when I met you the first time at Create and then we got to spend some time together and and I heard what you did for him, I'm like this is my people right.

Speaker 2:

He did his part.

Speaker 1:

Well, I know he did, but it still had to be you recognizing, being sensitive to the Holy Spirit as a business owner and a faith-based entrepreneur to be able to give him that opportunity. So I love that. So let's fast forward. We've got about a couple minutes left. Peptides, peptides. Let's talk peptides Because I remember I'm working out. I spoke at EXP Worldcon in Orlando, gary Brekker, gary spoke at the same one, I did, and so Gary and I. This was probably two years ago. We've been friends for a couple of years, so we're working out together, we're lifting Peptides.

Speaker 1:

Comes up, my buddy, drew Johnson, is talking about BPC-157. I never even heard of it. Walk our audience through what is a peptide? And then I want to walk through some of the ones that I've taken in the past, some of the ones you recommend for our audience and guys. We'll put in the show notes. We'll put a link. You can go straight to Anthony's landing page for body symmetry MD. I'm not sure exactly what the process is and getting peptides, but I'm sure you can tell us on that. But let's talk about peptides. What is a peptide?

Speaker 2:

okay. So, uh, let's break it down for you real easy. The reason why I know so much about peptides is I gotta be very transparent.

Speaker 2:

Coming from the renegade world, uh, bodybuilders and that renegade world boy, peptides, have been around for a long time as a matter of fact, they've been around since, I believe, the 1950s, when one of the big boys, I think, like mur or somebody, bought up all the patents on them and shelved them so it wouldn't interfere with any other pharmaceutical products that were out there. These are basically an analogy to use. Peptides are nothing more than amino acids or polypeptides, or multiple amino acid chains, and so very safe, okay. Multiple amino acid chains, and so very safe, okay. However, when, when you put them in the body, they act as little messengers or computer code that triggers an event in the body, okay, so it asks your body to do something. One of them might like to reduce inflammation, might produce more growth hormone, release more growth hormone. One of them there's even one out there that will tell your pituitary to produce a hormone called melanin and make your skin tan. Okay, and the thing about it is there is a wide range of different peptides that

Speaker 1:

are out there I mean there's hundreds, so I take two BPC-157. A lot of you guys have heard of that.

Speaker 2:

Walk us through what BPC-157 is BPC-157 stands for body-protecting compound. Okay, this is one that is very prolific.

Speaker 1:

I did not know that?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's what the BPC is.

Speaker 1:

I did not know that.

Speaker 2:

It stands for body-protecting compound. It's most prolific specifically in the areas of inflammation and healing. Okay, so if you're recovering for something or you're about to go pre or post-op, it's an amazing peptide to take to help you heal that much quicker, bigger, better, faster, and so that's what BPC is.

Speaker 1:

so known for and they have other BPCs other than 157, then I guess there's just BPC-157.

Speaker 2:

However, what they're doing now is compounding peptides together. Another one is TB-500. Tb-500 is a peptide that I think originally originated on the battlefield. The government used it for wound care. So if you're healing a wound, or if you have inflammation or you're post-op, the combination of BPC and TB500 is like peanut butter and jelly for healing.

Speaker 1:

I love me some peanut butter and jelly. Bro, we got to stop the peanut butter and jelly references, so that one tesamorelin is another one I test some relin.

Speaker 2:

Okay. So that is a peptide that is sold white labeled as a pharmaceutical. I don't know the name of it, but that particular peptide compound is used for hiv patients to reduce and keep the visceral fat down in their body Apparently visceral fat. If you have HIV, that can be compromising to your immune system. It can put you at more risk, so that peptide T-samoralin is used pharmaceutically or clinically in that capacity. However, the peptide version, which is molecularly just the same, we're just not buying it from Eli.

Speaker 1:

Lilly or.

Speaker 2:

Upjohn's. We're buying it from a compounding pharmacy or a non-scripted peptide supplier. That peptide, if you take it at nighttime before you go to bed, two hours after you eat, it will reduce the visceral fat in your belly fat area, gut area, wow, so that's a pretty popular one. As far as cosmetically, if you've got the beer gut.

Speaker 1:

So what else? What are some other peptides that you recommend, some that you might be taking yourself?

Speaker 2:

So I take a combination. Now that peptides become more and more mainstream, suppliers are becoming more and more available. Fda stuff is starting to become a little bit more clear. Okay, you know, peptides are safe to take, they're safe to sell and for us to have and possess. It's just there's only about four of them that are actually FDA approved. Okay, pt-141, that helps like with libido and mojo. Simorelin, a sucretigod that increases growth hormone. There's a couple of them, but they're the only ones right now, at this second, that are FDA approved. Are FDA approved Now. All of the other ones have to be sold under the auspices of either a research chemical or a non-scripted peptide.

Speaker 2:

The language means the same. I'm not an attorney, but it does mean the same. But if you're selling a peptide to a soccer mom, non-scripted is a lot more palatable than research peptide, but it means exactly the same thing to a soccer mom non-scripted is a lot more palatable than research peptide Not for you to use, but it means exactly the same thing.

Speaker 2:

Some other peptides that I personally use. We blended one together. It's called a Sculpt blend. It's got that T-samorlan in it to reduce the visceral belly fat. It's got ipilurium and CJC in it, which will help put you to sleep and also increase growth hormone factors, or growth hormone levels. It's got MOTC in it that will help you enhance metabolically. And then the last one it has a peptide in it. It's called AOD. That's the anti-obesity peptide. That one helps reduce BMI aesthetically throughout the whole body. Wow, so you take that peptide at night time. Um, you will get a little little flush, a little warm, and then you'll get really, really sleepy. And if you stay asleep you wake up the next morning you can feel a nice little pump to you, but also that rip coming on yeah, you feel it good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, walk me through. So. So peptides, um hormone replacement therapy, you do. Um, pretty much some of the biohacking stuff you do, you do as well. What's the best way for people to get in contact with you?

Speaker 2:

anything so um our website bodyysemetrymdcom. That's obviously the best way to get in touch with us. Through our website you can find all of our different locations, if there's one that's close to you.

Speaker 1:

Where are your locations in the Atlanta area?

Speaker 2:

We've got one in Norcross. We have a women's spa and more of a body cemetery. Roswell is more of a lady's spa and more of a you know, body symmetry. Roswell is more of a lady spa and wellness.

Speaker 1:

So, dad, I can't go get a massage, or is that what you tell me?

Speaker 2:

If you want to get laser hair or you don't. I don't want to do that. I'm good, that's the go-to spot.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

The rest of our locations. We do all the therapeutics like peptides, weight loss hormones. We've got a location in North Georgia just outside of Helen. There's a little gym up there, it's a CrossFit. We have a little kiosk, mini clinic in there. And then our flagship, our main location here, is in Norcross, Georgia. I love that.

Speaker 1:

Tell me what's next. What's next for you guys?

Speaker 2:

Well, I think the next thing for us is just continue to grow the brand. Like I said, repeating the Jose type stories, we're not a franchise company, but we do offer licensing where, if you're a faith-based entrepreneur and you want to get this be part of our message, and you got drive like you and Jose you're good to go, yeah.

Speaker 2:

So if you're a faith-based entrepreneur, you want to get into the health and wellness space and but you need some help getting there to reach out to us and let us provide with you all the tools, the technology, the front and back end support, the coaching on a licensee model. I love that and so you can. It's a heck of a lot cheaper than opening up your own brick and mortar.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I love that.

Speaker 2:

So you can plug it into an existing practice. Say, you're a chiropractor or sports medicine and you want to bring weight loss and wellness in, that's a great way to do it. Or if you're inside of a high-traffic location, a big health fitness center, and you want to put one in there, those have worked out well for us as well. I love that.

Speaker 1:

Best place to connect with you social media-wise.

Speaker 2:

That would be my Facebook page Anthony Brumfield. Find me on, friend me, send me a message, have any questions. I can help you in any capacity of health and wellness questions, or how to get into the industry, or anything. I love to talk shop.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, what would you say to somebody who's sitting there listening to this podcast and they're like? I was actually on the phone today with a real good friend of mine and potential business partner and he's had some physical problems heart problems. He hadn't been able to work out and he said that to me he goes, man, I got to get back in the gym. I just had lunch with a doctor and same thing. He's like dude, I don't have time to get back in the gym. What would you say to people who say I don't know that I have time, I don't know what I need to do? What advice would you give them, anthony?

Speaker 2:

Start slow, just do something. Yeah, just make one change, just do something. If it's air squats or push-ups, just start. Okay, I mean we, can always find it.

Speaker 1:

Hey, don't ever fly with Gary Brekker because he does 25 air squats every hour, every hour.

Speaker 2:

Just gets up and does his air squats every hour, every hour. Just gets up and does his air squats right there we can, everybody can do that. All of us listening to the podcast.

Speaker 1:

We all jump up. You want to do?

Speaker 2:

20. Right now we can do 20 air squats, or we can bang out 20 push-ups or however many. You can just start by doing something. Yeah, okay, uh, if it's a walk, let's start with a walk. Next thing you know you'll be air squatting and walking your way into a gym. I love that, dude, because you'll start feeling better, start with just doing something and then just start eliminating something bad.

Speaker 1:

We know what that is.

Speaker 2:

We don't have to do a whole podcast on it, or you don't have to read a book. We know what's good and what's bad.

Speaker 1:

Start eliminating bad and put something good in, just start somewhere I start eliminating bad and put something good in it. Just start somewhere I love it. Well, thank you. This wasn't that bad, was it?

Speaker 2:

It was how was your first podcast experience. I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I guess we'll see what we're watching. It wasn't bad at all, was it, man? Thank you again for joining us. Man, thank you for… Thanks for having me Dude. Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for trusting GSD, our community that you've become a part of with you, your team, with your business growth. Thank you for trusting us and being a part. It means a ton to me for you to be able to be a part of what we're doing.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I get it, I'm drinking the Kool-Aid.

Speaker 1:

I get the proximity. Hey, we don't give Kool-Aid to people, just so you know.

Speaker 2:

I get what you mean by proximity. And if you're a faith-based person, an entrepreneur, we all know how things can start going sideways and things as it relates to our relationship, our health, our fitness and all that stuff, and, as faith-based men and women, if we hold each other accountable, we have a community and then we have proximity to good data. That's a big deal, and so I get it.

Speaker 1:

I get it Well. Thank you for joining us, guys. Thank you for joining us for another episode of as the Leader Grows. I am your host. Ken Jocelyn, this is my guy, anthony Brumfield. You can go to the show notes. Dude, my arms and that thing look pretty good right there, don't they in that camera? Look at that, anthony, that's a little work. I don't have biceps like you got. No, I don't, but I do have a torn bicep right here. Sorry about this, guys. Thank you for joining us on another episode of as the Leader Grows. I am your host.
